Where Academic Excellence and Faith Formation Walk Hand in Hand

Gethsemane Lutheran School has a strong tradition of educating children since 1943. Yet each child, each year meets personal attention, new experiences, advanced learning methods in small classes. We believe we have a special calling and responsibility to educate the whole child—mind, body and spirit.

Science activity

As an accredited preK-8 school, our curriculum teaches the basics of reading, writing, math, social studies and science to lay a solid academic foundation. From that foundation we encourage students to explore and grow as they are challenged to become life-long learners.

We also nurture a child’s spiritual relationship with Christ. We believe every child has God-given talents to discover. We seek to help them find their place in this world so that they may use their gifts in Christian service to the world.

Our expansive campus accommodates a strong preschool and extended care program as well as sports and fine arts programs, interactive learning technology, a complete library and on-site hot lunch program.

We are a Christian school located in the east metro area of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, and our school families live in east St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale, Woodbury, Lake Elmo, North St. Paul, Little Canada, White Bear Lake, and Stillwater. North St. Paul / Maplewood District 622 school buses bring students to and from Gethsemane.

Enrollment is open to all families, regardless of church membership or affiliation. Stop in for a tour and a conversation with one of our outstanding teachers! We’d love to have you join our community.
